WILLEMSTAD - One more person was tested positive for the coronavirus. It is again someone who has come returned from abroad and was quarantined. This was announced by epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth today during the government’s briefing. The doctor did not mention where this person came from.
The person was tested right before leaving the quarantine and is now in isolation.
In total, 23 people were tested positive for the virus, 7 of which were imported cases. Epidemiologist Izzy Gerstenbluth emphasizes that there are no local infections.
Gerstenbluth also announced today that people who travel to Curaçao from the Netherlands no longer need to remain in the mandatory 14 days guarded quarantine.
Given the low risk of infection from the Netherlands, it has been decided that the quarantine will be shortened for the time being. The incubation period is usually 4 to 6 days.
On the 8th day, people will now be tested and if the test is negative, they can be quarantined at home without surveillance.
