MoU between GPs and new hospital; no agreement with Social Insurance Bank yet

WILLEMSTAD - Hospital Nobo Otrobanda, (HNO) the new hospital, has still not entered into an agreement with the Social Insurance Bank (SVB). The parties cannot agree on the distribution of costs. Several conversations have already been held, but to date the parties have not come to an agreement.

Hospital Nobo Otrobanda and the Curaçao General Practitioners Association have signed a cooperation agreement, but the HNO has yet to reach an agreement with the SVB.

The Memorandum of Understanding includes the deployment and training of practice supporting general practitioners, the introduction of a GP information system and the training of general practitioners.

Gilbert Martina, managing director of HNO Transition and Operation Inc, confirms that not all general practitioners are in possession of official papers, i.e. they are only a medical doctor.
