Maduro & Curiel’s Bank made profits through transactions done with its card swipe machines.
WILLEMSTAD -During the treatment of the Troya case on June 30 this year, the judge heard several witnesses, among them employees of the Maduro & Curiel’s Bank (MCB). These employees indicated that the bank had made a profit of 3 to 5% each time a person would swipe their card on one of these swipe machines.
Among those witnesses were Mr. M. Prince and Mr. Isebia. Both declared that the bank made a maximum of 5% on each transaction.
During the case treatment, it also became clear which other companies were using the MCB card swipe machines to receive dollars. There was a department at the bank that would check this swipe system but had to stop these dollar transactions.
Treatment of this case will continue on August 6 and will last until August 9. The requisition of the Public Prosecution will be broad and will take a full day to present.
