WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has extradited Mykhaylo Koretsky, better known as Cobra (December 3, 1974, in Ukraine) to the United States on May 31, 2019. M.K. has been transferred by officers from the Organized Crime Division (DGC) at Hato airport in Curaçao to the US Marshalls of the United States.

Under the guidance of the Marshalls, he left with a specially flown-in aircraft. On 22 May 2018, the Common Court of Justice advised positively on the extradition request from the United States. M.K. appealed in cassation against this positive advice.

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal by judgment of 23 April 2019. The Governor of Curaçao subsequently declared the extradition admissible on 13 May 2019.

M.K. is suspected by the United States authorities of conspiracy and / or attempted distribution / execution / import of drugs. More specifically he is suspected by the US of El Chapo drug transport between Colombia, Mexico, the US and Canada.

M.K. was arrested on January 3, 2018, based on an arrest warrant from the US District Court, Southern District of New York, for extradition to the United States.
