WILLEMSTAD - LabdeMed (Laboratorio de Medicos) celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The jubilee year was officially opened on January 7 by Minister of Health Suzy Camelia-Römer. During the festive opening - which took place in the main building of LabdeMed - 40 white pigeons were released. They symbolize the confidence that LabdeMed received from its clients and partners in recent years.
40 years of loyal service
LabdeMed has been offering its services in Curaçao for 40 years and is profiling itself as a socially responsible laboratory where security, clarity and quality are paramount. The innovative medical lab closely follows developments in health care and pursues a consistent quality policy that was rewarded in 2018 with an international ISO accreditation.
Innovation on multiple fronts
In addition to security, clarity and quality, innovation also plays a major role. LabdeMed believes it is important to keep innovating continuously so that the Curaçao community can continue to rely on optimal service provision. The innovative character of the lab includes not only the latest developments in technology, but also an active prevention policy. For example, LabdeMed publishes the free health magazine Mi Salú and pop-up labs provide weekly free health checks at various pharmacies.
Anniversary activities
LabdeMed will continue to work for a healthy(er) Curaçao in 2019. This includes a seminar on patient safety that will be held at the Renaissance Curacao Resort & Casino on Saturday 26 January. The seminar aims to create more awareness for this sensitive issue and to lay the foundation for further development and implementation of patient safety policy in Curaçao. The seminar is open to everyone and participation is free. More information will follow shortly.
