WILLEMSTAD - Today the Invest in Willemstad Summit 2019 was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Curaçao Eugene Rhuggenaath and the Dutch delegation leader Hans de Boer (chairman of the VNO-NCW).
After the official opening the possible local and foreign investors participated in several lectures in the Maritime Museum, neighborhood presentations in Villa Maria. They will also have a reception in Fort Amsterdam where they will meet with the Governor of Curaçao, H.E. Mrs. Lucille George-Wout.
The delegates were also welcomed by the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Billy Jonckheer. This was followed by an interview with Minister of Economic Development Giselle Mc William and Minister Quincy Girigorie as deputy minister of Transport, Transport and Urban Planning.
Halfway through the morning the participants heard two short stories: about why Corendon sees a lot of potential in Curaçao and why Bob Pinedo - an internationally renowned oncologist and Curaçao citizen - has established a cancer prevention center in Curaçao. After the break there was a video about the neighborhoods, after which the presidents of these neighborhoods gave a brief explanation of how the neighborhood is doing and what the expectations for the future are.
