WILLEMSTAD - Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) presented statistics on international trade for 2020. These are compiled as secondary statistics that are mainly derived from customs documents, based on the Eurotrace compilation & processing system. The trade statistics are prepared according to the “special trade system”, which takes into account the free zone and certain goods that are not included.
The CBS indicated that the results for 2020 are:
• Imports decreased by 16.5% in 2020 compared to 2019;
• In 2020, 1796 million guilders was imported in products (excluding oil and oil products), among which the most imported products are subsequently indicated.

CBS also indicated that the 3 largest import partners in 2020 for Curacao were the Netherlands (25.9%), USA (31.8%) and Panama (6.3%).
Export
CBS confirmed that exports decreased by 14.5% in 2020 compared to 2019. In 2020, 147 million guilders was exported in products (excluding oil and oil products), among which the most exported products are subsequently indicated.

In 2020, most goods were exported to the following top 3 countries: Bonaire (33.6%), the Netherlands (14.0%) and Aruba (12.3%).
