Hotels on Curacao fall outside the acquisition of tour operator Corendon

WILLEMSTAD - The takeover of the Dutch travel organization Corendon by the Scandinavian-German venture investor Triton has no consequences for the hotel projects on Curacao, spokeswoman Simone van den Berk said in an email exchange with Curaçao Chronicle.

The hotel chain that Corendon founder Atilay Uslu - who has a vacation home on Curacao - is building falls outside the acquisition. The hotel branch of Corendon is part owner of the Jan Thiel Livingstone Resort and has a hotel of 800 rooms under construction on the site of the former Holiday Beach.

Gunay Uslu, the younger sister of Corendon owner Atilay has helped her brother set up Corendon and remains responsible for the development of hotels, including the former Veneto hotel in Curaçao.
