WILLEMSTAD - Interest in the Dutch parliamentary elections was notably high on Curaçao this year, with more than 1,100 voters casting their ballots. The voter turnout is estimated to be between 70 and 73 percent, one of the highest participation rates among Dutch citizens abroad.
A total of 1,722 eligible voters were registered on the island — a 37 percent increase compared to 2023, reflecting growing political engagement within the Curaçao-based Dutch community.
According to data from kiezersbuitennederland.nl, based on a survey of 12,000 Dutch voters living overseas, the GroenLinks–PvdA alliance is currently the most popular party among expatriates, followed by PVV and D66.
The strong turnout highlights the continuing political and cultural connection between Curaçao and the Netherlands, as well as the island’s active participation in shaping the direction of the Kingdom’s future governance.
