Global Oil Management Group Announces Job Opportunities for Skilled Workers

WILLEMSTAD – Since last year, Global Oil Management Group (GOMG) has been preparing to start asphalt production in Curaçao. This project is being carried out in close collaboration with Curaçao Refinery Utilities (CRU) and 2BAYS Curaçao and involves multiple phases of restoration and maintenance work on installations and facilities in the Schottegat Industrial Area. These efforts are essential for launching asphalt production.

The work will be carried out in the short term by local contractors, depending on the needs of each project phase. These economic activities will generate employment opportunities, and GOMG recognizes their positive impact. As a result, skilled workers are invited to apply for temporary construction and maintenance jobs.

This asphalt production project is a key initiative that brings significant benefits to the local economy.

Skilled workers interested in learning more or joining the project can email asphaltrebuild@crubv.com or call +5999 525-9855 (Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM) no later than February 28, 2025.

For the next phase of the project, local contractors will require a sufficient number of skilled workers, including:

30 Plant Mechanics

10 Machine Mechanics

20 Electrical Technicians

20 Structural Builders

20 Industrial Painters

Additional positions such as Carpenters, Masons, Welders, and Safety Inspectors.

All roles are project-based and not long-term.

GOMG’s ambitious plans include sustainable asphalt production for both international and local markets. By using clean-burning propane, GOMG prioritizes an environmentally friendly approach to refining facilities and asphalt production.

Currently, there is high demand for asphalt, particularly in U.S. markets. This initiative gives Curaçao the opportunity to reposition itself in the global asphalt market.

So far, GOMG has invested over 35 million guilders in this project. Additionally, 2BAYS and CRU have made significant investments to develop the necessary infrastructure for exporting asphalt from the Schottegat Industrial Area.
