Dutch Secretary of State Zsolt Szabó Highlights Responsibility for MFK After Election Victory

WILLEMSTAD – Following the MFK's decisive election victory, Dutch Secretary of State for Kingdom Relations, Zsolt Szabó, has emphasized the significant responsibility that rests on the shoulders of Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas to work towards a prosperous future for the people of Curaçao. The MFK secured 13 out of 21 seats in the Island Council, a historic win in Curaçao's political landscape. 

Szabó congratulated the MFK on their impressive victory, stating that with this success comes the responsibility to continue working on agreed-upon reforms and setting clear priorities. He stressed the importance of maintaining solid government finances, good governance, and investing in the economy to ensure a sustainable future for the island. 

The Secretary of State, who is scheduled to visit Curaçao next month, as well as Aruba and Bonaire, also affirmed that he would continue to emphasize constructive collaboration in the relationship with Curaçao.
