WILLEMSTAD - Each year, the Representation of the Netherlands in Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten contributes a total of EUR 250,000 to local non-profit initiatives across the three countries. Through the Small Projects Fund (Kleine Projecten Fonds – KPF), registered foundations can receive up to ANG 5,000 to support their community projects.
The fund prioritizes projects that promote social development—particularly those benefiting youth programs, neighborhood initiatives, sports, culture, and efforts that strengthen community resilience, such as poverty reduction, healthcare, and food security.
There is still an opportunity for organizations in Curaçao to apply for a small financial contribution before the application deadline of November 20, 2025.
The latest KPF contribution was presented by Mr. Kunst of the Dutch Representation, coinciding with the visit of Curaçao’s national football team, symbolizing the close ties between the Netherlands and the islands.
All foundations registered with the Chamber of Commerce are eligible to apply. Over the past year, several organizations in Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten have received KPF support for impactful local projects.
In Curaçao, for example, Sentro di Bario Otrobanda received funding for after-school care programs for children in the neighborhood. The Welcome Home Foundation was supported for its work providing mental and physical assistance to children, youth, and adults undergoing chemotherapy. Meanwhile, Café Magic received a contribution to expand its learning and work programs for individuals with mental disabilities.
The Dutch Representation emphasized that the Small Projects Fund aims to encourage grassroots initiatives that make a tangible difference in people’s lives and strengthen the social fabric of the Dutch Caribbean communities.
