Dutch experts to Curaçao to investigate crash NH-90

EINDHOVEN - The Netherlands sends an investigation team to Curaçao to investigate the circumstances of the accident with an NH-90 from the navy, which killed two occupants on Sunday evening. They fly to the island with a KDC-10 from the Air Force.

The helicopter crashed on Sunday, in sight of the Zr. Ms. Groningen on which the aircraft would land, in the sea. Despite the rapid deployment of lifeboats, aid for two of the four officers in the helicopter arrived late.

Experts from the Dutch Safety Board (OVV), the Defense Security Inspectorate and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (Military Police) set out to find out the cause of the crash. Based on data from the flight recorder and witness statements, it should become more clear why the accident happened.

The helicopter itself has since sunk to the seabed. The bodies of the two killed soldiers have now arrived in Curaçao. It is not yet known when they can be transported to the Netherlands.
