WILLEMSTAD - The corona measures will be eased starting this Wednesday. The government announced this during a press conference this morning. Here are the relaxations at a glance:
The curfew is being eased: everyone has to stay indoors from 11 pm to 4.30 am;
Alcohol ban (lei seku) is lifted, with the exception of casinos (alcohol is not allowed there);
Restaurants are allowed to stay open until 10 pm. On terraces and outdoors, a restaurant may receive up to 50% of its normal visitor capacity
Beach bars, sneks (snackbars) and bars may remain open until 7 pm.
Truki’pans (BBQ stands) may be open from 6 pm to 10 pm
Supermarkets, toko's and minimarkets may be open according to their permit, up to a maximum of 8 pm, and also receive a maximum of 50% of their normal capacity of people.
Prime Minister Rhuggenaath thanked the population for observing the rules and emphasized that Curacao is one of the few places worldwide where measures can now be relaxed. Dr Izzy Gerstenbluth emphasizes that we still have to remain careful and adhere to hygiene and social distance rules to ensure that the number of infections remains low.
