Curaçao stops with daily COVID-19 figures

WILLEMSTAD - The health care authorities in Curaçao will stop publishing the COVID-19 infection figures daily. Instead, they are only given once a week, on Friday. The reason is the declining infection rates.

If it is necessary to increase the frequency again in the future, the crisis team will adjust this decision again.

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in the Netherlands has also switched back from a weekly to a monthly Covid-19 report on the six Caribbean islands.

Sixteen people were tested positive for corona today. The test ratio is slightly higher than the day before. Twenty-seven people were allowed to end their isolation. There are now 286 active cases in Curaçao.

There are ten patients in the CMC, five of whom are in intensive care. That's one patient more than yesterday.

The health care authorities in Aruba also stopped publishing the corona infection figures daily. Instead, they are only given once a week, also on Fridays.

In the month of February, 679 tested positive and 815 people were allowed to end their isolation. As a result, there are now 55 active cases in Aruba. The month started with 37 patients in the Horacio Oduber Hospital. On the last day of February there were two, one of whom was in intensive care.
