WILLEMSTAD - According to Epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth, during today’s briefing, there are no new changes to report. Which is very positive.
The total confirmed cases in Curaçao remain at 14, and there is 1 inconclusive which means that the test results have not led to a firm conclusion yet. This person will be tested again. As is already known, 1 has died, 1 is still in the hospital (the doctor did not give details of the persons condition), 8 are safe and 4 are still in isolation. 22 who have been in contact with infected persons are being monitored
There are still 3% (51) of those who have entered the island after the measures were announced who are still being monitored.
Dr. Gerstenbluth says that even if this sounds good, doesn’t mean that we are there yet. “This phase is extremely important. This is the only way we can limit the infections. If there were more infections, we would see it in the hospital. Maybe there are more with the virus, but it is limited. The measures taken are working,” says the doctor.
“We will put everything 'in place' in the coming week so that we are ready when the measures are relaxed. If contamination does occur again, we are prepared. All advice to limit contamination remains valid.”
