COVID-19 update: Man who escaped from quarantine hotel tested negative for coronavirus

WILLEMSTAD - The 45-year-old Curaçao man who escaped from the Bed & Bike hotel on Caracasbaaiweg on Saturday has tested negative for the coronavirus.

The man had arrived from the Netherlands a week earlier and had to remain in quarantine for fourteen days. He was brought back under the guidance of relatives.

Epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth announced yesterday that another person has tested positive. Again, it is someone who has come back from abroad and was quarantined. Gerstenbluth did not mention where this person came from.

In total, 23 people have now been tested positive for the virus, 7 of which were imported cases. There are no local infections.
