WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) has meanwhile received the first payment that the court has imposed on the Social Insurance Bank (SVB). Director of the hospital Gilbert Martina confirmed this.

All in all, it amounts to almost 17 million guilders. The hospital will be paid that amount because, according to the judge, the previous Minister of Health wrongly applied a cut to the hospital's budget.

The first 12 million will be paid before the end of the month. The remaining 5 million will be paid out over 5 months from August, or 1 million per month.
