Corendon receives its construction permit

WILLEMSTAD – In a press release, the Minister of Urban Planning, Zita Jesus-Leito announced that the construction of the Corendon Curaçao hotel will soon start. The Minister recently issued the permit for the construction of the first phase of the tourism project.

At the location of the former Holiday Beach and Veneto this year the construction and renovation of the 50-year-old Holiday Inn will have to be realized. After this first phase, which is scheduled to be completed in mid-December 2019, there will be 350 rooms. In phase two the adjacent leasehold area of ​​almost 38,000 square meters will be developed with a further 450 rooms.

Previously, Corendon owner Atilay Uslu already announced that this phase will be delivered by the end of 2020. "Corendon Curaçao will elevate the area of ​​Otrobanda to a new and unprecedented level," says Jesus-Leito.

The Corendon Curaçao project was submitted in the last quarter of 2018. "At the start of 2019, the Ministry of Urban Planning and Service worked together with the Minister to on issuing the building permit in the short term", said the Minister in her article.

During the processing of the license, various government entities, such as the fire brigade, have given advice about various important aspects that are associated with issuing the building permit to Corendon Curaçao.
