WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) proudly announced the launch of two significant initiatives today at the Maintenance department warehouse. With the esteemed presence of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, Mr. Sithree van Heydoorn, the event highlighted CAP’s ongoing commitment to community development and youth empowerment.
The first initiative marks the official handover of 20 iPads to the children of F.O. Elis Juliana-Sheila Karel. As promised during the playground unveiling on August 15, 2024, these iPads, complete with covers and two years of paid licenses, are now being placed in the hands of young students to enhance their education and growth. This contribution symbolizes CAP’s dedication to fostering opportunities not just within aviation, but across our entire community.
"The iPads are more than a donation; they are tools for learning and exploration," Jonny Andersen, CAP’s CEO shared. "We believe in creating pathways for the next generation, and this initiative ensures that these children are equipped to succeed in an ever-evolving digital world."
Simultaneously, the event also served as the official launch of a new internship program at CUR Airport with students from Juan Pablo Duarte AGO. This initiative is designed to provide students with valuable work experience, hands-on training, and mentorship opportunities within CAP’s Maintenance Department. Through this program, students will gain practical skills while being guided by experienced professionals in the field, helping to build their confidence and set them on a path toward future success.
"We see this internship as more than just an introduction to the workplace. It’s about making a real impact in the lives of students who face significant challenges," Andersen added. "At CAP, we believe in nurturing the next generation, helping them to realize their potential and giving them the tools they need to thrive."
Minister van Heydoorn gave a heartfelt speech at the event, praising CAP’s initiatives and their positive impact on the community. The morning concluded with the official signing ceremony, symbolizing CAP's continued dedication to fostering the next generation of leaders and empowering Curaçao’s youth to reach new heights.
