Appeal case convicted former minister starts today

WILLEMSTAD - This morning at 10 am the appeal case of former Minister of Finance George Jamaloodin begins.

The former member of the MFK party is challenging his 28-year prison sentence. He was sentenced for his part in the murder of former Member of Parliament and popular politician Helmin Wiels. The judge then found evidence that he had ordered and paid for the murder. The Public Prosecution Service also appealed.

Today is a pretrial review and further investigation wishes can be made known. It will also be known when the case will be handled substantively.
