WILLEMSTAD - 734 People in Curacao are going to vote for a new European Parliament on May 23. People living on Curacao, Aruba and St Maarten were able to register until April 11. 923 people will vote in Aruba and 96 people in St Maarten.
Candidate Samira Rafaela of the Dutch D66 party campaigned at her own expense in Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire in recent days. Rafaela is the daughter of a Curacao mother.
The candidate has had discussions with local politicians in the field of social welfare, among other things. According to Rafaela, there are opportunities for the islands to make use of funds and subsidies.
Climate, nature protection and safety are also topics that were discussed during the meetings.
