15 civil servants start legal studies

WILLEMSTAD - 15 civil servants will undertake a study as a certified legislative lawyer. The government says it considers the role of legislative lawyers in the government apparatus to be of vital importance. The participants started on Monday, September 14. The part-time course lasts one year and is provided completely digitally.

"In the midst of the challenges facing our country, the government considers it necessary to have capable, objective and honest individuals to strengthen the legislative capacity of our civil service," the government said in a statement on Thursday.

The study certified legislative lawyer is organized in close cooperation with the Curaçao and Aruban government and the respective universities of both islands at the initiative of the Legal Affairs department (WJZ).

In Curaçao, 65 people have expressed an interest in participating in this study. The government's central organization for the development of civil servants (IMPULSO), together with deans of the University of Curaçao (UoC) and also WJZ, has made a selection of 15 civil servants, according to the government.
