WILLEMSTAD - On Saturday morning, July 20, Zr.Ms. Groningen provided medical support at sea. Around six in the morning the report came in that a 15-year-old boy had become unwell on board a fishing boat near Curaçao.
Zr.Ms. Groningen then brought its doctor to the boy with one of the FRISCs (fast interception vessels). The boy was taken aboard Zr.Ms. Groningen and treated by the doctor.
In Curaçao he was handed over to the ambulance staff for further care. The boy is doing well and received an original navy hat.
