WILLEMSTAD – According to data gathered by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) as part of the Senso 2023 survey, work is the most common reason people choose to settle on Curaçao. The survey reveals that the majority of migrants on the island are between the ages of 15 and 50.
The survey also highlights that more than half of the migrants on Curaçao come from the Netherlands, with a significant portion of this group having lived on the island for a long time. Over 30% of Dutch migrants have been residing on Curaçao for more than 20 years, and more than half have lived here for over a decade.
According to the CBS, a longer stay generally indicates a higher level of integration into Curaçao's society, suggesting that those who have lived on the island for many years are more likely to be well-integrated.
