Werner Wiels had a secret credit card

WILLEMSTAD - Werner Wiels had a secret credit card when he was chairman of the Multidisciplinary Project Team (MDPT) which was in charge of finding a strategic partner for the refinery. This is the conclusion of a study by government accountant SOAB.

Expenses on the card, almost 27,000 guilders can no longer be traced. There is already a complaint filed at the Public Prosecution Service about possible fraud by Wiels. The brother of the murdered politician Helmin Wiels was later fired.

The MDPT still exists and is also still looking for a takeover candidate for the refinery. Time is running out because the contract with the Venezuelan State Oil Company PDVSA will expire by the end of this year. PDVSA will not be able to take over due to its current financial situation.
