WILLEMSTAD - Venezuela is looking for a ship of its own coast guard that disappeared from the radar after Christmas. The ship was on its way to the island of Las Aves.

Presumably, it has sunk, but sources in Caracas take into account that the crew has deserted. The captain of the ship may have sailed towards Guyana or one of the Dutch Caribbean islands to request asylum. The coast guard here says it does not know the whereabouts of the ship.
