VBC wants end to "plachi di dia"

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Business Association (VBC) wants the end of the "Plachi di Dia", or the vehicle registration scheme, with immediate effect. The organization announced this in a press release yesterday.

According to the VBC, the number of corona infections has decreased significantly in the recent period, so there is no reason to keep people at home so much. The Plachi di Dia was introduced on March 24.

Then the measure was logical, according to the VBC. But that is no longer the case, according to the organization. The VBC is concerned about the fact that many stores have had no income for a long time. The shops did not sell anything on Carnival, Valentine's Day and Easter. It would be good if they could still sell something on Mother's Day next Sunday, according to the VBC.
