WILLEMSTAD - The dead man who was found yesterday in the salt pans at Willibrordus, appears to be a kitesurfer.

He was not a tourist, as first reported, but the 55-year-old Marlon Simon Gomperts, born in Curaçao.

The police were not able to say if the accident was the cause of his death. They did indicate that they have started an investigation.
