Two suspects arrested for falsifying QR code

WILLEMSTAD - Two men were arrested on Sunday for falsifying a QR code. Last weekend there was an inspection of a high-risk activity, and the inspection team arrested a 25-year-old man and his 19-year-old brother.

Problems already arose when scanning his QR code. The police asked the 25-year-old man to show his sédula (ID card), but he was unable to do so. The man did not have this with him and tried to enter with his brother's QR code. He was arrested for forging documents.

Shortly afterward, a 19-year-old man, the suspect's brother, came with his brother's sédula. Investigations have revealed that the brother has given the approval to use his QR code to enter. The 19-year-old man was arrested for complicity in falsifying documents, and both were brought before the public prosecutor. After interrogation, they were sent home pending their appearance in court.
