WILLEMSTAD - Thousands of families in Aruba depend on food aid after the outbreak of the corona crisis. Different aid organizations are working hard to help these people.

Not everyone receives the special government benefit that is intended for people who have lost their jobs.

The Curaçao born TV personality Jandino Asporaat has already raised more two million guilders with his fundraising campaign for Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten. According to broadcaster NTR, the counter was on Saturday evening at 770,000 euros and Monday the million passed. The money is meant to help people who are in need due to the corona crisis.
