Tropical wave is still increasing in strength

WILLEMSTAD - Caribbean Weather Center announced Tuesday afternoon that the tropical storm, which appeared to have weakened this morning, is currently increasing in strength. The news media reports this via an update on Facebook.

The probability of the tropical storm developing rapidly increases to 70 percent in five days and 40 percent in two days, the center reports. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), a broad low-pressure area has developed several hundred miles east of the southern Windward Islands.

Caribbean Weather Center reports that conditions appear to be improving for later development as the storm reaches the central and western Caribbean Sea. The center says that regardless of the development of the system, local heavy rain showers and strong wind gusts are expected over parts of the Windward Islands during Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening. These islands along with the ABC islands and the north coast of Venezuela should monitor the progress of the system.
