Trade Union SSS Calls for New Curaçao Government to Prioritize Rising Cost of Living

WILLEMSTAD – The trade union central Sentral Solidaridat Sindikal (SSS) is urging the new government of Curaçao to make tackling the rising cost of living its top priority. The call was made in a manifesto released ahead of the upcoming elections on March 21.

In the manifesto, SSS stresses that the working class can no longer bear the escalating costs. The union points to its previously presented “Plan di Sostenibilidat Sosio Ekonomiko,” a plan first proposed in 2020, which advocates for structural measures to address cost increases.

SSS criticizes the lack of concrete actions by the government so far and calls on citizens to vote for a government that will take this pressing issue seriously. The union is urging voters to choose leaders committed to resolving the financial burdens facing the people of Curaçao.
