Test possible monkeypox infection in Aruba negative

WILLEMSTAD - The test of the person who may have been infected with monkey pox in Aruba is negative. This is confirmed by the Department of Public Health (DVG).  


At the end of July, DVG reported that a possible first infection of the virus was being investigated. The person recently visited Colombia and has symptoms similar to those of monkey pox. Close family and acquaintances who may have been in direct contact with the person were also quarantined.  


A test was taken and sent to the Netherlands for further investigation. The result was negative, meaning no cases of monkey pox have been recorded on the island to date.
