WILLEMSTAD - All teachers in Curaçao will be structurally updated in the field of digital skills from this month. This is reported by the Dutch company Edutrainers, which will carry out this project for the next three years in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
A project group has been set up to shape digitization in education in Curaçao. The project group consists of a collaboration of experts from all school boards on the island.
The group has defined wishes and preconditions for safe, future-proof education. The professionalization of teachers of digital skills and digital didactics is seen as essential in this respect.
Edutrainers
After careful market exploration and a careful selection process of providers of professionalization, the Ministry has opted for cooperation with the Dutch company Edutrainers. This company is a trainer specializing in digital literacy and digital didactic skills.
Curaçao chooses to first professionalize and facilitate teachers and education professionals with digital skills. This with a view to the near introduction of digital literacy in the Curriculum.
Edutrainers guides teachers and education professionals in Curaçao step by step in increasing and improving their digital skills. After a baseline measurement, the participants gain insight into their own level. Based on their personal training plan, the participants follow short E-learnings and workshops.
Edutrainers' learning blocks are created by teachers who are experts in digitization in education. According to Edutrainers, this approach ensures that teachers and education professionals in Curaçao can immediately apply what they have learned in their daily work and teaching practice.
