WILLEMSTAD - Teachers of ten Catholic schools in Curaçao in primary education have followed a special program to identify child abuse and domestic violence among students at school.
The training was given by Bos di Hubentut, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in June. The organization expects more schools to sign up.
The training courses were given last year by experts in the field of child protection, such as psychologists, experts by experience and doctors.
During the training, the teachers have studied recognizing signs of child abuse and have learned how to deal with this in practice.

During the final training, a video was shown to get a realistic picture of child abuse. Domestic violence was visibly shown in this video.
The teachers were impressed by the intense images, and this makes them realize more how important it is to identify and prevent child abuse at an early stage.
