Suspect involved in deadly shooting airport transferred to Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday, the 32-year-old Curaçaoan Curtley Basilia was transferred from the Netherlands to Curaçao. Basilia is suspected of being involved in the so-called Hato Shooting that took place on 16 July 2014 and in which 2 people were killed and 7 injured.

Basilia was arrested on 28 December last year in Zoeterwoude-Rijndijk. An international investigation order had been issued against him. He is accused of being involved in the murder, but also of bribery of a policeman.

He would have paid an agent 30.000 guilders in exchange for information about the arrival times of the men who were shot during the attack.
