Suspect in case "kidnapped intern" denies involvement

WILLEMSTAD - 30-year-old S. Plantijn was tried in court yesterday in connection with the kidnapping of a Dutch intern in August last year.

Together with his partner, Plantijn gave the intern a lift, after which the two forced her to pin money. Finally, the couple threw the girl from a rock into the water at Banda'bou.

Contrary to what Plantijn previously told the police, he now denies the kidnapping of the 17-year-old girl. Plantijn had admitted to the police that he had kidnapped her, touched her, and finally threw her into the water.

The case will be heard on October 16.
