WILLEMSTAD - The renowned supermarket chain Van den Tweel, along with Jamin, Pearle Vision, DA, and TopiToys from Super Retail, has officially opened a new location in the upcoming LXRY Mall Brakkeput, a new covered shopping center.
The mall will be situated next to the LXRY Resort, a luxury development on the island. According to Century 21 Real Estate, which made the announcement via Facebook, 75% of the residential units in the area have already been leased. The project has drawn attention due to the significant increase in traffic along the Caracasbaaiweg, partly attributed to the construction of new vacation accommodations nearby.
The LXRY project is being developed on land owned by the Algemeen Pensioenfonds van Curaçao (APC), located along Kaminda Brudernan di Brakepoti, a side street off the Caracasbaaiweg. In addition to the aforementioned retailers, other businesses like Tiki Bar, Bottles, Grand Emerald, Japanese Dream Spa, Madero Lifestyle Boutique, Health Me, Kyoto, and Miss Ann are also set to open their doors in the new complex.
APC has expressed hope that the new shopping center will help alleviate the strain on local infrastructure, providing both residents and tourists in the surrounding areas, such as Jan Thiel, with more convenient access to daily necessities without having to travel to the city.
