WILLEMSTAD - The DASH plane of the Coast Guard detected a vessel near the coast of Fuik at about 3 am last night. They started to pursue this boat and also alerted the customs, police, and security of Santa Barbara Beach Resort.

After a joint search of several hours, five women and one man were found. Later a man of Curaçao origin was arrested on suspicion of human smuggling because he presumably provided transport for the undocumented.

All persons have been transferred to the police which will continue to deal with the case.
