Silvania coordinator of implementation Country Package COHO

WILLEMSTAD - For the implementation of the Country Package and the Implementation Agenda of the Caribbean Reform and Development Agency (COHO), Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas has asked the Minister of Finance, Javier Silvania to coordinate the implementation on his behalf.

This was recently decided in the Council of Ministers (RvM) and announced in a letter to all executives of the government, State bodies and government affiliates. Recently Silvania was a guest on a Dutch radio program in which he announced that he would ask for more time in the Kingdom Council of Ministers (RMR) to look again at the amended bill for the Kingdom Act COHO. This has caused a stir, as the Prime Minister had agreed to the COHO Statute Act and Pisas had to correct that misstep the next day.

Silvania has been engaged by Pisas because the financial dimension is linked to the Country Package. It has been decided to set up a National Reform Commission Government Curaçao to give more ownership. The aim of the committee is to work together with the ministries to implement the Country Package and the Implementation Agenda. That in this way a strengthened financial-economic structure is created in Curaçao.

There are seven members on the committee. The members receive a fee and officials who support the committee can receive a fee if they meet a certain time commitment condition. The approach is that the committee will be there for two years, with the option of extending it each time by one year.
