WILLEMSTAD - The Shete Boka National Park has been voted the best attraction in the Caribbean. The National Park was part of USA Today's annual 10 Best Readers Choice Awards.
Every year, USA Today holds a competition that selects twenty attractions from around the world. In the past month, people were able to vote online for the best attraction. The Shete Boka National Park took part in the competition as in previous years and took the win this year.
The Shete Boka National Park is a well-known tourist attraction on Curaçao. The National Park is situated on the rugged north coast of the island. The area became a protected area in 1944 due to sea turtles that reside in the park.
The park is best known for its spectacular nature. At Boka Pistol the waves crash against the rocks and the water splashes through a hole meters high into the air. The Shete Boka National Park is visited by more than 90,000 visitors every year and is very popular among cruise tourists.
