WILLEMSTAD - Seventeen undocumented Venezuelans escaped from the barracks at the SDKK prison early in the evening yesterday. Prison guards sounded the alarm about this at 6:30. The men had made a hole in a concrete wall, through that hole all seventeen men escaped. Police and members of the Curaçao Volunteer Corps immediately started a major investigation. One man was arrested a little after nine o'clock. Sixteen undocumented migrants were still on the run last night.
Yesterday it was announced that the government plans to return Venezuelans who had been arrested on December 1 by air to Venezuela. At the moment undocumented men and women are still in the barracks. The flight also wants to fly back Curaçaoans who are waiting for an opportunity to come from Venezuela.
