WILLEMSTAD – The Seú season has officially begun, marking the celebration of Curaçao’s agricultural traditions. Held after Carnival and the elections, the festival highlights the island’s farming heritage. The main parade, Marcha di Seú, will take place on April 21, while the Bándabou edition is scheduled for May 4, according to local newspaper Amigoe.
During the festival’s opening ceremony, groups and candidates were introduced for the Kantadó Mayó singing competition and the Reina Seú election.
This year, 28 groups will participate in the Marcha di Seú, while 69 contestants have registered for Kantadó Mayó. The Seú parades in Seú Pariba and Bándabou will follow the Carnival routes and are coordinated by Fundashon JAG.
