WILLEMSTAD - For the next two months, everyone is allowed to dispose of waste for free at the Malpais landfill and Koraal Specht transfer station, according to the Ministry of Public Health. This means that during this period, Selikor will not charge users any fees. The government will cover the costs and compensate Selikor for the loss of revenue.
Selikor reminds all users of the landfill and transfer station that all existing conditions for waste disposal remain in effect during this period. Users must present valid identification, and their vehicle must have a valid inspection certificate.
At the Koraal Specht transfer station, a maximum of two cubic meters of waste per vehicle can be dropped off, packaged in bags, boxes, or bundles. For other services, users must go to the Malpais landfill.
The operating hours for the Malpais landfill are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, while the Koraal Specht transfer station is open from Monday to Sunday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. These hours will remain in effect until further notice.
The free waste disposal period began on Tuesday, September 3, and will run until Thursday, October 31 of this year. Selikor encourages all users to take advantage of this opportunity and properly dispose of their waste at the designated locations.
