SDG Flag Day and SDG action week

WILLEMSTAD - The SDG Flag Day will take place on September 23. On this day we celebrate the 'birthday' of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). The SDGs are 17 goals embraced by 193 UN countries to make the world a better place by 2030. They are a compass to tackle major challenges such as poverty, climate change and inequality.

Curaçao has also embraced the goals and focuses mainly on SDG 1 No poverty, SDG 3 Good health and wellbeing, SDG 4 Quality education, SDG 7 Clean and affordable energy, SDG 8 Decent work and economic growth and SDG 14 Life below water. The government of Curaçao celebrates the SDG Flag Day by raising the SDG flag in Forti. The SER and the ARC will also raise the SDG flag, demonstrating their commitment to the SDGs.

Do you also want to raise the SDG flag and show that your organization stands behind the SDGs and is working on the SDGs? Then raise the digital SDG flag with us on social media, using #curacao2030, #simandikultura2022, #togetherfortheSDGs and #flipthescript. With this action we want to draw extra attention to the SDGs and to the commitment that Curaçao needs from everyone in our society.

Following this SDG Flag Day, our annual SDG Action Week will take place from September 26 to 30. During this week, various workshops and meetings can be followed online about the SDGs and the local agenda of Curaçao. This year the topics are linked to our Siman di Kultura and the theme is therefore 'Ban kunuku, ban planta!'.

The program can be found on curacao2030.cw under 'events' and on our FB page 'SDG Curacao2030'. Give up!
