Scuba Lodge donates more than $ 11,000 to CARF and GreenKidz

WILLEMSTAD - Boutique Hotel Scuba Lodge has handed over a check worth $ 1,632 to Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation (CARF) and a check for $ 1,332 to GreenKidz. In 2018, Scuba Lodge donated a total of $ 11,071 to the two foundations.

In the past year, Scuba Lodge asked each guest at check-out which foundation they would like to support with their stay. For every night that a guest has stayed in a room or apartment, Scuba Lodge donates one dollar to the charity. This is part of the 'Dollar a Night' program that Scuba Lodge launched two years ago. CARF and GreenKidz have since received a donation from Scuba Lodge every quarter.

"What a great gesture! We are very pleased with the involvement of Scuba Lodge and her guests with the stray dogs on Curaçao. Without this financial support we could not mean much for the stray dogs," says Sylvia Minten, volunteer at CARF.

Maya Mathias of GreenKidz is also enthusiastic about the donations: "It is fantastic how Scuba Lodge has supported us over the past two years. "With this donation, this foundation can once again teach different children in a playful way about recycling, composting and respect for the environment."

Christina Sieperda, General Manager of Scuba Lodge: "Both CARF and GreenKidz are committed to our island in a positive way and we are proud to be able to support these foundations. Our hotel guests react very positively to our Dollar-a-Night program and find it nice to be able to contribute to an animal-friendly or cleaner Curaçao. We have therefore decided to continue with our Dollar-a-Night program in 2019. As a small boutique hotel, we are not affiliated with a large chain, but that does not mean that we cannot make a difference!"

In 2017, Scuba Lodge already donated $ 10,182 to CARF and GreenKidz through the Dollar-a-Night program.
