WILLEMSTAD – The third edition of "Ban Topa", held last Saturday, saw a record number of approximately 400 dogs microchipped, marking a significant milestone for the initiative. The event provided dog owners with the opportunity to have their pets microchipped and to schedule sterilization appointments.
The event was organized by the Animal Welfare Project of the Ministry of Health, Nature, and Environment (GMN) in collaboration with Rescue Paws Curaçao and Stichting Dierenhulp Curaçao, two organizations actively involved in animal welfare. The event took place at Sentro Deportivo Kòrsou (SDK) and attracted a large number of pet owners eager to participate.
Despite the high turnout, the microchipping process and administrative tasks ran smoothly. Many dog owners expressed satisfaction with the initiative, as it provides a practical solution for recovering lost pets.
The next "Ban Topa" event is scheduled for March, with the exact date to be announced in the media soon.
