Public Health Inspectorate baffled by opinion piece Jan Huurman

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Public Health Inspectorate has taken note of the publications of former Inspector General and former Inspector of Public Health Jan Huurman with astonishment. The Inspectorate calls Huurman's opinion piece an attack on the Institute.

The former inspector expresses himself in a letter to various media about the recent verdict following a complaint and a demand about the actions of surgeon Misset. According to Huurman, the judge's ruling painfully exposes the weakness of the current Public Health Inspectorate.

Huurman questions the intentions of inspector Sirving Keli. He argues that the inspector's mistakes fit into a pattern in which Keli has reversed justifiable interventions by Huurman himself, whether or not ordered from a political angle.

The Inspectorate writes in a press release that it does not recognize itself in Huurman's claims. “The Inspectorate and its officials therefore distance themselves completely from these statements and are considering appropriate follow-up steps.”
