WILLEMSTAD - On December 3, 2024, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas welcomed Carmen Gonsalves, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Venezuela, during an introductory visit.
Ambassador Gonsalves was accompanied by Annemieke Verrijp, Special Representative for the Dutch Caribbean. The meeting served as an opportunity for Prime Minister Pisas to establish rapport with the ambassador and discuss key topics of mutual interest.
Among the issues addressed were the OFAC license, trade relations with Venezuela, existing sanctions, and the current social, labor, and governance situation in the neighboring country.
Both parties underscored the importance of strengthening the already strong collaborative relationship between the two nations. The discussions were described as cordial and productive.
